I guess that you could call me a collector of inspiring quotes, most are in English, Spanish or Dutch. I jot them down in notebooks, on napkins, on my iphone – wherever! Besides sharing them from time to time on my Facebook page I never really did anything else with them until this summer before leaving for Spain. I finally sat down at my computer and typed them all up. I made copies of the Spanish and English ones, cut them out one by one and folded each one. When I was a hospitalera this July in El Burgo Ranero I placed the quotes into 2 glasses so that pilgrims could take one before leaving in the morning. Some pilgrims would read it immediately and others would save it for later along the Camino. Each one was different. It was wonderful sharing them with others.
From time to time I will share them also with you. Here is one for starters.
The future is not some place we are going, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made. And the activity of making them changes both the maker and their destination. John Schaer
